This script features rhythm and rhyming words and is loosely based on an old jump rope rhyme about a man who flies into space. Whenever the man flies off, he comes back with “something on his face” and the text explains exactly what has happened to him while out there on his journey.

RT Version: 6 Readers, including an ALL chorus. 7 pages in length. CHORAL Version: Formatted for ALL, ALL GIRL VOICES, ALL BOY VOICES, and an ALL CHORUS. 6 1/2 pages in length.

READER 1. We know a man.

(CLAP, CLAP)

READER 2: Flew into space.

(CLAP, CLAP)

READER 3: He’s back in town…

READER 4: With something on his face.

READER 5: He passed the Milky Way
When they were making ice cream.

READER 6: Ice cream flowing
Like a river or stream.

READER 1: And he got ice cream
All over his face!

READER 2: On his face?

READER 3: Oh, what a place!

CHORUS:

(DRAW OUT THE WORDS “So let’s”)

ALL: Soooooooooo leeeeeeeeet’s…

READER 4: Scrub his face,

READER 5: Roll him in a rug,

READER 6: Wrap him in a blanket,
‘Till he’s snug, snug, snug.

READER 1: Clean and comfy,

READER 2: Happy as a bug,

READERS 3,4: And when he goes away again
