TP-11 THE RED JACKET

Description:

Jeremy Michael Myers is an ordinary kid who suddenly begins bringing a girls jacket to school one day - a jacket he takes pains to take care of. A jacket that seems symbolic, but exactly what is Jeremy up to? No one knows why. Jeremy makes no excuses for his actions. Despite the fact that everyone in school is starting to wonder about Jeremy, Sam remains his friend, never asking any questions. Until one day...

A play about feelings, emotions, and why sometimes a circumstance can force a person to suddenly change. It is tragic, enlightening, and a challenge for any class to portray Jeremy. The entire play can be done with a handful of characters. This play will touch yours and your students' hearts.

This play concerns morals and issues for the upper elementary grades to 7th grade.

Number in Cast: There are 8 characters - 5 main characters, three girls in a group

TP-12 THE FAIR TRADE

Description:

A 5 character play done quite simply about earning respect and growing up. James, and his brother Joey and their friend Pete are all picking Strawberries on Casper Mountain one day when a hobo shows up. Joey and Pete aren't having a thing to do with the hobo, but the trouble starts when Pete practically dares James to offer the hobo a sandwich.

This play emphasizes the morals of growing up and earning the respect of your peers. It's a quick little paly that is loads of fun for a small cast of boys.

Interested grades might be from 3rd graders to 7th graders.

TP-13 BEN'S SACRIFICE

Description:

It's Ben's Mother's birthday and Ben hasn't a thing to give her. His brother and sister do, his father does, but he doesn't. He doesn't work yet, and he is tired of just making her a card. He wants his family to understand that he has grown past the stage of making colorful cards for Mom or Dad. He wants to give her a real gift. After giving it thought and seeking his father's advise, Ben learns that true giving comes from sacrifice. So what does Ben have to sacrifice?

This is a fun, short play filled with a family of five, with a next door neighbor named Amy Lynn O'Donnel and of course, Ben's pet frog, Ralph.

The cast would include 7 people and a frog or likeness. Lots of fun for 3rd to 5th graders.

TP-14 A LITTLE MIRACLE

Description:

Kelly is upset when she finds out that they are going to turn her old church into a fancy parking lot. Not only will it put Reverend Martin out of work, she won't have a field to play baseball on either. Kelly has to come up with a gimmick. Reverend Martin says she should pray on it. So after a lot of praying, Kelly comes up with a dandy idea. They'll have a carnival and raise money for the church and all the friends and neighbors will help repair the old church and maybe, with a little miracle they'll both be able to keep the old church.

Number in Cast:  6 main characters and one small group of girls

TP-15 LIE ON A YARDSTICK

Description:

Julie is always the new kid at school, because her father travels so much. Making friends is always hard for her and she so wants to fit in. So when all the other kids say they don't like the teacher, Julie joins right in. That is, until she gets to know her teacher. What can she do, she doesn't like lying, but she wants to have friends, she wants to fit in? What can she do?
