THE NEW GUY AND THE OLD FRIEND

I-114 THE NEW GUY AND THE OLD FRIEND

Two high school girls meet "the new guy at school" and sparks fly as they each vie for the rights to his attention.  However, an "angel" steps in who just happens to understand the word MEDIATION and has developed the skills to make it happen.  If you are interested in introducing the concept of Anger Management to your students, this Readers Theater script might just be the way to do it!

The script involves 3 girls of high school age. Two are best friends from childhood, while the third is a friend to both, and a skilled conflict manager who wants to see the other two patch up their quarrel. The script comes in 2 parts:

PART 1: a prologue and 8 scenes which introduce the first two girls and their relationship, along with the problem and the subsequent breakdown of the relationship.

PART 2: is a long scene in which the third girl intervenes and gets the first two girls to talk through their problem in a non-aggressive way. This leads to a happy conclusion for all.
