WITCH WILLOW

I-125 WITCH WILLOW AND THE WITCH'S BREW

This script was written by special request from a primary school librarian who needed a "participation tale" to read aloud to Kindergarten and First Grades. She mentioned she wanted to involve the audience members in both verbal and physical ways throughout the reading.  Because of this inventive librarian, "Witch Willow" was born!

The script can be read and/or performed at Halloween, but will also work at other times of the year.  It concerns a "beginning witch" who isn't a real witch because she has to pass her final exam first.  Too bad the exam is a "witch's brew" exam and Willow's worst subject in school is COOKING.  No need to worry!  The audience finds ways to help Willow remember the list of needed ingredients, and is also instrumental in adding the ingredients to the large cooking pot placed in the center of the reading area.

Willow's brew turns out to be a tasty trail mix and, at the end of the story, all students are given a small gift bag filled with that very mix.

There are two versions in this package.  One is formatted for a single storyteller/reader.  The other is formatted for a group of older students who want to rehearse this Readers Theater version and use it to entertain the little ones.  Either way, you can't go wrong!  You get two scripts for the price of one.
