CH-32 THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING!
A Short Shared Reading Script Featuring Choral Reading and Read-Aloud Solo Parts.
This holiday script is based on an old English Nursery Rhyme“Christmas is Coming”:
Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat
Please to put a penny in the old man's hat;
If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do,
If you haven't got a ha'penny then God bless you!
The words of the nursery rhyme "Christmas is Coming" are historically associated with the traditional English Christmas celebration and the serving of geese for the Christmas feast. The meaning that was conveyed to children through this rhyme was that during this festive period, each should give to charity, according to their means.
In this modernized version, pennies, candy canes, and presents are suggested as good things to put "in the old man's hat". In the end, the readers find what they believe to be the perfect gift for the old man: their friendship and an invitation to Christmas dinner!
ALL GIRLS, ALL BOYS, 4 SOLO READING PARTS, ALL CHORUS. 4 pages in length.

CH-38 THE FREEDOM GOURD
In the 1800's, an old man named Peg Leg Joe passed an important song and its lyrics from slave to slave. Working as an itinerant carpenter, Joe spent winters in the South, moving from plantation to plantation, teaching the slaves a coded song that contained directions for an escape route to the north. At the end of the song's "drinking gourd" was the North Star, and the path of the North Star was the path to freedom.
This Choral Speaking/Reading script has been especially created for Primary Voice Choirs. This story, as described above, features ALL, ALL GIRL VOICES, ALL BOY VOICES, and TWO SOLO SPEAKER LINES. The script is written with rhyme, rhythm, and lots of repetition!

CH-41 SHADOW, SHADOW! (For Primary Readers who can read simple words and phrases)
What's more fun than a shadow? Why, it can follow you anywhere and, if the light is right, do exactly what you do. In this Readers Theater script, each reader has a shadow who either copies exactly what the reader has said, answers the reader's question about shadows, mimics the reader's movements - or does all three! A shadow, of course, ends up being a readers best friend. Who else will stick to you like glue and do exactly as you do?
When you purchase this title, you receive two versions or 4 scripts in all. One version contains a repetition of the same verse each time the All Chorus speaks. A second version contains different verses each time the All Chorus speaks. Both versions, including teacher and student reader scripts, are included in this package so that you may decide which works best for your particular readers.

This is a Value-Added Package, $14.95: Two versions for the price of one.
CH-42/P-45 THE TOWN WITH A VERY SPECIAL SOUND
If your primary students like trains, this might be a good script to try. The story is about a little town that has a very special sound. The town is surrounded by train tracks and, of course, the special sound comes from the many trains that pass through day and night.
The chorus of this script asks the readers to duplicate many of the sounds that come from trains. To make the reading even more fun, the chorus can be read to the rhythm of a real train as it chug-a-lugs along the tracks. These are easy-reader lines for children who can read simple words and phrases.
HISTORICAL NOTE: The train town in this story is based on a real town: Wellington, Ohio. Eighty to one hundred trains pass through this Ohio town in a 24-hour period, and the residents spend much of their time either waiting to cross train tracks or listening to train sounds. The trains might cause a lot of inconvenience, but they do help make this town a very special place!
When you order this title, you receive both a Readers Theater Version and a Choral Speaking/Reading Version.
RT VERSION is formatted for 10 SOLO READERS and an ALL CHORUS featuring as many readers as you’d like. You can also easily add up to 20 SOLO READER parts, if desired.
CHORAL SPEAKING/READING VERSION is formatted for ALL, ALL GIRL VOICES, and ALL BOY VOICES.

This is a free script. Please click HERE.
--------------------------------------------
CH-47 NINE GREEN GOBLINS (Primary)
Two teacher narrators (or older readers) narrate this story poem with the help of ALL GIRLS, ALL BOYS, ALL and a repetitive ALL CHORUS. The tale is about nine Halloween goblins who are really very hungry and wish for the kinds of food most youngsters like: pizza, hot dogs, macaroni, spaghetti, scrambled eggs, etc. When one of the goblins suggest that, as Halloween goblins, they should eat only candy, the narrators step in, invite the goblins home for a good dinner, then send them off to "trick or treat" for dessert. Yes, there's a lesson here, but it's a subtle one and lots of fun for your choral readers! This is a script for primary readers who can read simple words and phrases.
Script length: 5 pages of reading text. View sample pages HERE.

CH-52 THE PYRAMID PROJECT
This is a combination Choral Reading and Readers Theater script that can be performed with either a small or a very large cast of readers. It can also be used with a variety of ages and reading levels, so please check the sample pages to see if it is right for your specific readers.
Teaching nutrition or trying to promote healthy eating at your school and using the U.S. Government Food Pyramid? "The Pyramid Project" involves readers in a story-poem project to build a pyramid - just like the Egyptians did long ago. Well, maybe this pyramid isn't exactly the same since it is all about food, the six basic food groups, and the pyramid section colors that make up the new government food pyramid found online at: http://www.mypyramid.gov.
Sound a bit stuffy? Well this script isn't. It's fast moving, offers a great deal of reading variety, and is lots of fun. What a great way to learn about healthy eating!
Script length: 8 1/2 pages of reading text. For more information, please click HERE.
