TP-23 RELATIONSHIPS AND SUCH, $24.95
Wrapping up a unit on "Relationships" or "Anger/Conflict Management Skills"? Why not end the unit with a performance of short skits that will put a smile on evey face while supporting what's been learned?
This set of humorous performance skits involves a wide variety of relationships, including family, friends, and student-teacher. Each one is an amusing look at the dynamics of a relationship! And, when an argument happens, some "conflict management" skills are introduced to sometimes help solve problems and/or add to the mayhem. The running time for this performance program is approximately 30 minutes.

CM-101 CONFLICT MANAGEMENT TEACHING PACKAGE $44.95
1. A CONFLICT MANAGEMENT GUIDE FOR TEACHERS
This 14 page guide is designed to provide an understanding of the philosophy and skills needed to teach Conflict Management in the classroom.
From making the initial choice to "buy in" or "buy out" of a conflict using a method called "self talk," on through the use of twelve "skilled responses" that may be used to help manage a conflict (examples: paraphrase, subject change, reframe, joke, and assertive statement), to actual lesson plans covering an entire Conflict Management classroom unit, this is a guide worth having!
------------------------------------------------------
2. A TERRY AND PAT SCENARIO: ROLE-PLAYING
Also included in the guide are three sets of conflict scenario sheets for duplication and use with an entire class, including step by step instructions for implementation.
Friends Terry and Pat have gone out to a movie and are supposed to be in by 11:30. Terry is almost an hour late getting home and is grounded for a week. He blames Pat and an argument ensues.
The scenario sheets are used to motivate role-playing. Each member of the class receives THE SITUATION sheet. Half the class receives the INSIDE TERRY sheet. The other half receives the INSIDE PAT sheet. Instructions for using the sheets to motivate meaningful role-playing and follow-up questions are included.

3. TWO READERS THEATER SCRIPTS
"TROUBLE IN THE HALL" SCRIPT PACKAGE
"Trouble In the Hall" involves a confrontation between two teens: One with a negative attitude toward foreign students, and the other, a member of the high school multicultural club.
This package includes two versions of the same conflict:
In Version 1, none of the participants use conflict management skills during the argument.
In Version 2, one of the participants uses conflict management skills and modifies the outcome of the conflict.
5 Readers: 4 male parts and 1 part that may be either male or female. Length: Version 1 is 4 pages. Version 2 is 8 pages.
"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?" SCRIPT PACKAGE
"Where Do You Think You're Going?" examines a parent/teen conflict. In this script, the teen is about to leave the house and head out for the evening. The parent, however, has different ideas and a heated argument ensues.
This package includes two versions of the same conflict:
In Version 1, neither of the participants is able to use conflict management skills.
In Version 2, one of the participants uses conflict management skills and modifies the outcome of the conflict.
Readers: May be male, female, or a combination of your choice. Length: Version 1 is 3 pages. Version 2 is 3 pages.
Editor's Note: The scripts described above were written to be used in the classroom to demonstrate, by contrast, the possible uses of management skills. However, teachers have emailed to tell me the scripts also work well in performance for a larger audience (either memorized and performed or simply read-aloud). For example, if you want to introduce the concept of Anger or Conflict Management to a parent's group or during a school assembly program, you would ask your students to perform Version One first, then talk to the audience about some of the skills that might be useful in dealing with this type of conflict, then perform Version Two to demonstrates how these skills will work when put into practice.
