Keeping Your Children Engaged Over The Summer HolidaysSeptember 8th, 2016
With the summer holidays fast approaching, many parents and others responsible for children might find themselves stressed just thinking of how to keep the kids entertained while school is out.
The summer school vacation is a long one! Children and parents alike often find this time of year a challenge as the weeks mount up and avenues for entertainment that seemed plentiful at first show signs of dwindling. Television might pick up the slack for a while, but even so, are you really happy with that?
While it's good for kids to have some down time, it's also beneficial for them to stay mentally-stimulated. Play Scripts are effective resources that parents and carers can draw on to keep children engaged in a way that is creative, dynamic, memorable, educational and, above all for vacation, fun.
With Readers Theater Play Scripts, a small group comprising only children or children and adults can perform a variety of scenes from entertaining, pre-written scenarios. There are more than 400 scripts to choose from on themes including:
- Ancient and Past Civilizations
- Fables, Myths and Legends
- Famous Explorers
- Fantasy/Fairy Tales/Folk Tales
- and The World Around Us
There are so many themes that parents and carers can create a library of scripts that is particularly relevant to the children in their lives. Then it's over to the kids to bring those stories to life.
Kids might already be familiar with play scripts for school, and play scripts work just as well outside of the classroom, helping kids to learn teamwork and participation skills, to keep their minds active and to have a great time in the process.
So don't despair. Many parents keep play scripts in their 'what to do with the children' arsenal. With many relevant and tailored themes to choose from, they are a great solution for keeping children engaged no matter when, and no matter where, even on a long road trip.
